New Housemate
So I adopted a puppy. She's one year old, she's not exactly a rescue dog, except she totally is. Shey's already spayed, and presumably well taken care of. The ad said, semi-housebroken. That's about right. They called her Patty or Party, I can't be sure because of the average Salvadorean pronunciation of foreign words, I renamed her Josephine; but I call her Josie for short.
She was hit by a car at some point (this was not in the ad; but once I met dude, he did tell me that), and got her left forward leg broken in the process. Now she walks with a slight limp on that leg. I was already in love with her once I saw her pics, so I just waited till I saw her, and I told him, "I'll take her."
I suspect maybe because of the limp, they did not want her (hell, I have a limp, and I got two women sharing me, and they both know of each other; but they don't give a fuck, because I'm too sexy to give a fuck). Moreover, I suspect, they might have been neglecting her, because before I went to pick her up, I bought dry food, a dog food bowl, a water bowl, and a leash (I thought it was an appropriate leash; but now I know I won't walk her in that, It's basically just a quick release chain, and what I thought was an adjustable nylon belt is just where you put your hand to walk the dog. The chain can easily rub her skin raw. Tomorrow I will buy a proper harness for her). Once I got her home, she scarfed down three full bowls of dry food, and half of another one to boot, and like five bowls of water.
Also, she was really distrustful of me when she first saw me. Actually tried to bite me a few times (denied, I'm too fast for ya). Once her former owner got her on the chain, she was content, and actually very well behaved, even in the cab ride home.
Once I got her in the house, though, she started tripping balls. She actually shit herself in the garage (and of course, I had to clean it up). Right now I have her confined to the garage and my front yard, while she gets used to me (She's actually already wagging her tail when she sees me, and obeys to some comands, like "sit").
All in all, I think this will be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
